Employee liability insurance
Essential protection for every employee, covering damages unintentionally caused to the employer up to 4.5 times the average salary.
Peace of mind at work for you and your boss
To err is human, but in professional life, it can be costly. According to the Labor Code (§ 250), your employer can claim compensation from you for damages you cause through negligence, up to 4.5 times your average monthly earnings. For an average salary, this could amount to hundreds of thousands of Czech crowns that you would have to pay out of pocket. Liability insurance takes on this obligation for you and covers damages to property, health, and financial losses, whether you break an expensive device, crash a company car, or damage goods.
Who is the insurance for and how does it work?
Employees and uniformed personnel
The insurance is intended for all employees in an employment relationship under the Labor Code, as well as for civil servants, officials, and members of security forces (police, military, firefighters) who have specific liability conditions during the performance of their duties.
Limit of 4.5 times salary
The law protects employees with a "cap" on damages. If your salary is CZK 40,000, the company can claim a maximum of CZK 180,000 from you. The insurance is set precisely to this limit (or higher), so you are fully covered for the statutory claim. Please note, this limit does not apply if you cause damage under the influence of alcohol or intentionally – the insurance does not cover this.
Global Coverage
Do you sometimes work from abroad or travel for business? A quality insurance policy from Eurovalley protects you not only at your workplace in the Czech Republic but worldwide (with territorial validity for Europe or globally), which is crucial especially for drivers and business travelers.
Common incidents we cover for you
Coffee spilled on a laptop
During a meeting, you accidentally knocked a cup of coffee onto your boss's open MacBook. The repair cost CZK 30,000. The insurance company covered everything (minus a small deductible).
Rear-ending at an intersection
While driving a company car to a client, you failed to brake in time and hit the car in front of you. The damage to the other car was covered by mandatory liability insurance, but your employer wanted you to pay for the repair of your company car (CZK 50,000). Liability insurance resolved it.
Pallet falling in the warehouse
As a warehouse worker, you incorrectly placed a pallet of electronics on a shelf, it fell, and goods worth CZK 150,000 were damaged. The company claimed damages, which the insurance company paid on your behalf.
Misfuelling
In a hurry, you filled the company diesel car with petrol. Draining the fuel and cleaning the engine cost CZK 15,000, and the car was out of service for two days. The insurance covered the repair costs and the rental of a replacement vehicle for the company.
