We help whenever we can – most recently, we donated 200,000 CZK to St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno. They will use the funds for things like purchasing equipment for faster and more accurate COVID-19 test evaluation. Is this your situation too? We might have a solution for you as well.

The impact of the donation: More beds available for non-COVID patients

The purpose of the donation is to a) help hospital staff detect infected individuals as early as possible, before they require ICU or intensive care, and b) provide medication to those already suffering from COVID. All this is to ensure these people do not need hospital care and do not occupy beds.

This will allow the hospital to perform procedures that were completely routine just a year ago more often, such as elective surgeries for people with other health issues. These people have simply been waiting for their procedures for too long.

Why hospitals are losing money due to COVID

And that represents a medical and financial problem, which – unfortunately – you likely know firsthand.

As you know, hospitals typically have contracted payments for specific procedures, let's say 150 hip replacements per year. (The numbers and types of procedures naturally vary for each hospital.)

Due to the current, unprecedented situation, hospitals simply do not have the beds to accommodate "regular" patients. The result? The procedure is postponed, often for many months.

As a result, the hospital loses the money it would have received for these contracted but unperformed procedures. They have to treat COVID patients instead. And contrary to popular belief, COVID patients are less "profitable" for hospitals than other types of procedures (surgeries, etc.), even though so many people with severe COVID are lying in ICUs.

This situation particularly affects regional and municipal hospitals, which are currently receiving smaller financial amounts from their regions or cities – as the regions and cities themselves are operating with smaller budgets.

How can we help your hospital? Let's find out together

Unlike millions of our fellow citizens, we are not "experts" in medicine, epidemiology, or immunology.

At Eurovalley, we believe we are experts in insurance. Our business results serve as proof of this—and thanks to them, we were able to afford the aforementioned gesture toward St. Anne's University Hospital.

How can we help your hospital? We don't know.

Not yet.

But we would love to find out together with you.

If your hospital is in a situation where:

  • Due to the influx of severe COVID cases, you lack the capacity to provide non-COVID care
  • You are facing financial difficulties as a result…

contact us.

If possible (and meaningful), we would be happy to help you in several ways, depending on what is "burning" you the most. These include:

  • Financial donation for disadvantaged hospitals
  • Adjustment of your existing insurance to ensure it is as advantageous as possible for you and that you are not overpaying on premiums. This typically involves professional liability insurance, property and machinery insurance, and management liability insurance.
  • Insurance coverage audit

If you want to avoid the financial "bleeding" mentioned above, we are here for you.

The decision is, of course, entirely yours.
